My name is Mrs. Donna and I have driven Bus 180 for the last 13 years, but I have decided to retire from the
bus at least until I retire LOL. It is finally time for me to move on and to seek out new challenges and other ways to use
all that I have learned in my years as a school bus driver and substitute teacher.
I began driving as a part time job that gave us more cash and allowed me to still be a full time mother and
teacher to our three homeschooled children.
Then continued to drive it as a second job. It has been just part of my life and my grandkids love riding the bus
too. I guess best of all is that although I am glad that I only had three children of my own. I have never been able
to get enough of them. No matter where I go these days I see some of MY BUS kids and they come and see me at my
other job in fact I work with some of them as well and I never pass one on the route that they don't wave me down and say
Hi. Everyone of them will tell you the same two things when asked about me...She really loves us, but man she can be tough
when she has too.
I decided to start this site for a couple of reasons, and will continue it as well for the same reasons. First as
a way to keep in touch with my bus young'uns as they move on in life, and secondly to try to open a few other eyes as well.
Such as Parents, Do you know who is driving your children around in traffic? Do
you have any idea what your children act like and do on these vehicles? Have you ever taken a trip with two
or three kids in the backseat? Try to imagine for a moment 40 to 60 at once and most of them aren't even related and some
of them just don't even like each other and I am not the parent, either I am just the bus driver.
So the next time your child comes home whining that someone sat in
their seat today and the driver didn't do anything about it, you just might have a different view if you picture yourself
for a moment in that driver's seat. LOL. If I only had a penny for everytime I hear "Oh No way I could drive a
School bus." I wouldn't be driving one either because I would be on my yacht in the Bahamas LOL. Many parents
have forgotten how important a bus ride everyday can be to a child as well. Someone has to do it and it brings me great comfort
to know that the people who drive your children to and from that all important education everyday do it for the same reasons. LOVE
OF KIDS AND A REAL BELIEF IN EDUCATING THEM WHILE KEEPING THEM SAFE AS WELL.
